I stopped making jewelries for a while

My Shimmering Works site has been inactive for a quite long time because I've been so busy even my hobby (jewelry making) was stopped and I hope it was just for a while and not for good...hmmm... I still have materials but not enough supply to make jewelries for sale, I just used the left over materials for making jewelries for myself and gifts for my friends and relatives I really wanted to push my hobby into a successful business but as for now being a mom was my priority i will just set aside my hobby for now...and just make some jewelry pieces if I have time and will post it here for someone having an interest in jewelry making, as a sample of my creativeness and own design...all my designs are free if you want to copy, modify and put your own touch it's a matter of imagination and creativeness.

My friends requested me to make anklets for them so I'm planning to make anklets also available for sale and I will post it here as soon as I have a finished product of it but for this moment let us first talk about anklets and everything about it.

What is Anklet?
     An anklet is an ornament worn around the ankle and can be worn left or right ankle historically anklets were worn for centuries by girls in Egypt and in Arab world, worn by married women in India and worn casual in the United States became fashionable in the late 20th century.
Anklets as an ornament can be made of silver, gold and less precious metals as well as leather,plastic or nylon and such other materials. 10k Gold filled Fresh water Pearl/Swarovski Bracelet

I made a simple bracelet yet I think is elegant enough to attract the eyes of pearl and swarovski jewelry lovers out there...I made this bracelet using 10k gold filled wires, balls and a very nice spacer to boost an instant glow/glitter to the bracelet. I combined the cream and gray fresh water pearl with swarovski bicones and the result is very nice and I love it! and I do hope you like it too...I'm still waiting for my materials to arrive and while I'm waiting I'll just make a piece of something to share with you here I'm planning to make my jewelries available in installment basis "1 month to pay" after I made more  finished product by october or november this year and everyone who is interested may pay in drops within a month period by paypal, G- cash or Smartmoney isn't great idea???what do you think?

Multi Strand Beaded necklace

I'm out of Gold filled wires and balls and I can't go out to buy materials so I just make the most of what I only have and I make this Multi strand beaded necklace It consume more of my time and effort to strung the beads because it so tiny as also the bead holes but still after 100 years lol! I got this beaded necklace finished and the result was nice and fab very nice for any attire so I make other colors of it and still making in fact the material is so cheap so I can sell it in affordable price.

Peridot... My Birthstone

It's August my birth month and honestly I'm so excited waiting for my birthday because I'm getting younger and fresher again...(let's be positive..haha!) anyway I'm excited and thankful because another year of my life awaits me after my birthday on the 22nd and every day and years of my life is a blessings so I should give thanks to Our Lord and share my blessing to others including my giveaway weee...and goodluck! to all who joined.

Now, since it's my birth month and like any other month we have this Birthstone assigned to each month as symbols of something traditional, mythical, folklore, et al. As of my birthstone "Peridot" the origin name is uncertain some says it's from arabic and greek word "Faridat" means "gem" and pronounced as ( pear-a-doe) sometimes referred as " Evening Emerald" because artificial light it glows as a brilliant green. Peridot legends state that the gem was considered as a powerful amulet against all evils hmmm...that's interesting! I guess that's the reason I don't see such paranormal thing hmmm???another thing Peridot somehow believes to be a remedy for sinus, lymph, lungs, breast problems and lessen the thirst to someone who has a fever just placed it under the tongue wow! it has a healing properties associated but really the history, myths, legends and folklore surrounding its magical properties have been handed down through civilization up to now. But for me wearing and having this birthstone (peridot) is my personal choice and like, any beliefs and myths associated with it is not what I'm after, I just love the fresh green color of it.

Pearl Bracelet Watch

Finally, I have something to share regarding jewelry I haven't update this blog for so many reasons, I became busy with my family, my other new blogs my hobbies photo shooting and painting using photoshop and the fact that I'm out of jewelry and beads supplies and I can go out to buy materials because I have a 8 month old baby ohhh! what a mom...anyways what I did is just recycled my left over pearls, beads, swarovki and because I'm out of wires I just used the nylon thread hehe..take a look...

Men's Ring

I'm always experimenting to make a unique design when making my crafts, jewelries and accessories when my hubby ask me why I not make a jewelry using gold filled and swarovski for men because he also wants to have a  piece of it for himself so I came up with the idea of making a mens ring using a gold filled materials and swarovski crystal that will not look feminine but will definitely look masculine just for him.

And this is the finished product of my work, I used a 14kt. gold filled flat wire and balls and Emerald cube "AB" swarovski cystals and my hubby loves it...so who said swarovski's are for women's fashion and jewelry only? it is suitable for men too isn't it?

My Beaded Jewelry Box...

These past few days I've been busy in my shimmering works thinking of a new design that I will surely love even with just a glance of it...and I think this is it!!! isn't it?

I love this bracelet it's so attractive...this dangling bracelet is made of white, pink, green fresh water pearls in a gold filled wires and balls accented with leaf glass beads also you can call this bracelet 2 in 1 because it is double bracelet  you can wear it separately.

 What I love in this Gold Majorca Pearl bracelet is it's simplicity...simple and yet standout,  this dangling bracelet is made of gold Majorca pearl (Majorca pearl is faux pearl) in Gold filled wires and balls so you are assured of a non-tarnish jewelry even for a long period of time.

The Idea of making this long beaded necklace is from my 3 year old daughter she loves pink and lavander so I came up of this necklace for her.

This long necklace is made of Ribbon fabric, plasic beads and a large butterfly glass bead serves as a pendant.

My Bead Works...

Did you know that a "Bead" is a small decorative object that is usually pierced for threading and the art or craft of making things using beads are known as "Bead works".

There are many different types of beads these includes Natural Beads - made of naturally occurring materials both organic ( i.e.both animals and plants origin ) and inorganic ( purely mineral origin ) the Natural organic consist of bones, corals, horn, ivory, seeds, shell and wood, Pearl also belongs in this group  it is known as the ultimate bead of natural origin also amber and jet because both undergone a partial geologic "fossilization",
Natural inorganic includes various types of  stones ( from gemstones to minerals ) precious and semi precious stones and also metal.

Synthetic Materials here includes materials used for bead making such as ceramics, pottery, glass and plastic fusible beads also known as perler beads or melty beads.
Plastic fusible beads (i.e. see photos above) comes in many colors and shapes it is very colorful and some are glittery that is why it is very much nicer to make it a  teens and kids necklaces, bracelets and accessories.

These necklace I have made for my daughter is made of plastic beads and pearls strung together to make it a nice choker necklace for kids and also for fashionable teens of today.
